Craniosacral Therapy

What is Craniosacral Therapy?

Craniosacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle, non-invasive hands-on therapy that is used to rebalance the body’s craniosacral rhythms and enhance the body’s own healing capabilities.

What to expect during your visit?

During a CST session, very light holding of the skull, sacrum and multiple points of the body will take place. The belief is that these micromovements can influence the circulation and pressure of the cerebrospinal fluid, the clear fluid that bathes your brain and spinal cord. Any hindrance to this flow may create bodily tension and contribute to many ailments. This form of therapy is beneficial to babies and adults.

What’s it good for?

CST is commonly used on infants who have experienced a traumatic birth or birth injury. During birth, the bones of our skill are able to move and compress to pass through the vaginal canal. Sometimes, these cranial bones are unable to untwist and remain out of shape, leading to a misshapen head. Babies can benefit from such treatment ideally within a few days and weeks from birth. Other implications for CST therapy for your little one include birth trauma from the use of forceps and vacuum extraction, trouble breastfeeding, colic, sleeping issues, GI pain, and reflux. Adults who suffer from migraines, brain injury, back and neck pain, fatigue, emotional distress, sleep disorders, and fibromyalgia can also improve from CST sessions.
